About the Verification of a Pending Degree

Students who have petitioned for a degree for the term may request a letter stating that they have a "pending" degree and that the degree will be awarded when all requirements for the degree are completed. This option is not available for students who have already been awarded a degree. Students who wish to have verification of an awarded degree should request a Degree Verification instead.

Ordering a Verification of a Pending Degree 

Current students may place an order in Oscar. 

  1. Log into Buzzport
  2. On the Home Tab, locate the "Registration and Student Services" Channel
  3. Select the "Registration - Oscar" link
  4. Select the "Students" tab
  5. Select the "Anticipated Graduate Term" tile
  6. Confirm the listed program information and graduation date. If not correct, use "Select the Term for Which You Expect to Graduate" drop-down menu to make the necessary updates. 
  7. Click "Update" 

Former students must complete a Verification Request Form, sign it, and submit it to the Registrar's Office. Computer-generated signatures are acceptable.

The completed and signed form may be faxed to 404-894-0167 or emailed to Comments@registrar.gatech.edu. 

There is no fee for a Verification of a Pending Degree.

Requests are usually filled within 3 business days.
