Temporary Downtime for Student Information System, including Degree Works

   This scheduled service maintenance was completed at 8:00 am on Monday, November 13, 2017.

An upgrade is scheduled for the Student Information System, which includes Banner and modules that interface with Banner. Affected modules include, but are not limited to, Degree Works, OSCAR, BuzzPort, and Transcript processing.

When is this happening?

The maintenance will begin at 5:00 pm on Friday, November 10, 2017 and last through approximately 8:00 am on Monday, November 13, 2017.

Who is affected by this interruption?

All users of the Student Information System will experience this downtime, including all students, faculty, and staff.

Registration Will Be Paused

Although time tickets will be posted for Phase 1 Registration for Spring 2018, the scheduled downtime for the Student Information Systems will pause all registration processes. No registration activities will be available while system maintenance is ongoing.

All registration systems will be unavailable, and all registration processes will be paused from 5:00 pm on Friday, November 10th until approximately 8:00 am on Monday, November 13th.

The Phase I registration period for Spring 2018 ends at 4:00 pm on Friday, December 15, 2017.

Degree Works Will Be Unavailable

The Degree Works degree audit system will also be unavailable during this downtime for the Student Information System.

Additional Information

Maintenance of the Student Information System is done by the Office of Information Technology (OIT). The Registrar's Office and other units that use the Student Information System will have limited services as a result of system maintenance.

Will my Time Ticket be affected?

Although registration systems will be unavailable and registration processes will be paused during the scheduled system maintenance, time tickets will not be affected. Students will NOT need to have new time tickets assigned. Registration processes will resume when the downtime for system maintenance is complete.

Will my position on the Wait List be affected?

Although registration systems will be unavailable and registration processes will be paused during the scheduled system maintenance, your position on a waitlisted class will not be affected. Be sure to monitor your position on the waitlist before and after the scheduled maintenance of the student information system.

What do I need to do?

Nothing. The Office of Information Technology (OIT) will restore access to the applications when the maintenance is completed.
