Provost's Curriculum Committee

The Provost's Curriculum Committee was created so that non-academic units on campus would have a venue for requesting new courses. Since non-academic units do not report through a School or College, a process for vetting new course proposals was needed that would operate in a similar fashion as that of the School or College Curriculum Committee. Typically, a new course proposal is approved through the School or College Curriculum Committee then is sent on for review by the Undergraduate or Graduate Curriculum Committee. From there, the request is acted on by the Academic Faculty Senate. For non-academic units, the new course proposal is made to the Provost's Curriculum Committee and if approved is sent forward to the Undergraduate or Graduate Curriculum Committee. The Chair of the Provost's Curriculum Committee is appointed by the Provost's Office. The current Chair is Dr. Marc Smith, Professor, George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering, marc.smith@gatech.edu.
